Bonaire – Curacao (40 Nm) – Aruba (76 Nm) – Santa Marta (Colombia) (280 Nm)
Après le départ regretté de Jérôme, arrivent de Suisse nos deux dentistes esthétiques (c’est leur spécialisation ). Robert et Viktoria ont décidé de s’acheter un gros catamaran voile pour faire de grands voyages mais comme cela serait leur 1er bateau, ils veulent vivre une dizaine de jours la réalité pour pouvoir la confronter au rêve !
Ils débarquent comme le père Noël, chargés de cadeaux dont certains sur suggestion du capitaine : un nouveau grille-pain, du fromage, du chocolat, du vin, du champagne, etc…
Tout de suite, la mayonnaise prend et la vie à bord de LJ s’organise comme si nous les connaissions depuis toujours. Robert est hyper actif et parvient même avec l’aide de Luc à réparer notre lave-vaisselle qui est en panne depuis la Martinique !
Bonaire est un rêve sous-marin : déjà tout près des plages nous croisons des poissons de toutes les couleurs. Avec un pick-up Chinois (The Great Wall) loué, nous visitons toute l’île et son parc National.
Puis nous quittons la Harbour Village Marina pour une traversée vent AR vers Klein Curacao : déjeuner et snorkeling en face d’une plage de sable blanc. Après la sieste départ pour Spanish Waters, un mouillage super protégé à l’intérieur de l’île de Curacao.
Nos amis Suisses sont alors introduits aux plaisirs de l’administration : immigration, douane, port authority, etc. Mais un excellent déjeuner après la visite du floating market de Willemstad fait vite oublier la frustration induite par des officiers pointilleux ! Etonnant que nous pouvons parler Flamand si loin de chez nous !
Nous fêtons Noël sur LJ avec Luc et Martine, les filles ont décoré le bateau ; nos petits Italiens nous ont préparés tout un repas digne de multiples étoiles ; tout le monde a des petits cadeaux : c’est une soirée que nous n’allons pas vite oublier !
Nous quittons le lendemain matin tôt Curacao pour une grande traversée vers Aruba. Les 76 miles sont absorbés en 7 heures par LJ sous genacker. Nos amis Suisses sont impressionnés. Visite de Oranjestad, très luxueux et remplie de boutiques de luxe et de casinos, où de grands paquebots déversent 4 fois par jour des milliers de touristes assoiffés de Gucci, Hermes, Bulgari, etc.
Départ le matin du 27/12 avec une météo musclée pour la Colombie : 280 miles en 28 heures ( !) pour arriver déjà le lendemain à 11h dans la marina de Santa Marta.
Nous plongeons tout de suite dans l’atmosphère sympa de la Colombie dans cette ancienne ville qui attire surtout des touristes du pays.
Nos amis Suisses dont la présence nous a ravis, nous quittent pour visiter le pays. Nous aussi nous partons le 31 au matin pour Bogota rejoindre Jan et Michou qui viennent directement de Belgique.

Lazy Jack: 19. to 29. December 2014
Dear Nicole, Dear Jacques,
we want to thank you very much for having us with you on board of your fabulous “Lazy Jack” sailing-catamaran on the small part of voyage from Bonaire in the Southern Caribbean over Curacao and Aruba to Santa Marta in Columbia that is part of your “Around the World” voyage. This stay with you has given us a lot of insight about life on board of such an owners-version of a 59 Catana and it’s a big help for us in the process of decision for our own project of the ownership of such a private sailing-yacht and how and where to put it on use for our own purposes.
We have been able to experience the spaciousness of the cabins, facilities and the main living deck with that formidable solution of opening the large closed internal living area that includes the galley into the additional external lounge-deck. The quality of living aboard was proof of the benefit of a high water-space under the main-deck between the hulls that proof to be mandatory in medium to high waves, that we have been able to experience on our crossing from Aruba to Santa Marta – Columbia: the waves have been freely traveling beneath the Catamaran without interfering in the cruising comfort and enabling a travelling speed of up to 19 knots during our traverse with tail wind conditions. We were surprised to see that the average speed on this 280 miles passage was 10 knots! The sailing performance of this Catana 59 is really outstanding, no question about that! Sailing by night with a half-moon looking down on us, the beautiful southern stars in the sky, the “singing” of the sails and the waves running smoothly underneath during the night watch was an additional special experience that we have been able to share with you. But there is a lot to say about enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the outside day-bed as well…
Your warm hospitality made us feel more like being part of family rather than “only” guests of yours – this is very special to us: it is great to know the two of you that way…
We enjoyed your kind hospitality very much as well as the excellent attendance of your crew: Chef Alberto and his girlfriend Alice, who did a formidable job, not only about the excellent cuisine, but as well about their gentle and subtle attendance: they proved to be an excellent crew, and we can recommend Alberto as a very innovative and experimental Chef, that knows to put up a tasty and healthy modern international cuisine even under the special conditions of difficult food management in this southern part of the Caribbean – that is somehow challenging in many ways - and even cooking under way. And of course it is a special treat to have a freshly caught Bonito-Tuna for dinner: out of the water directly on to the table.
So again: thank you very much for having made that experience with you possible: we enjoyed it a lot and we did profit in a lot of helpful information and experiences.

Tout d'abord nous vous souhaitons une merveilleuse nouvelle année, pleine de joie, de bonne santé, d'aventures et d'amitie.
A Marbella c'est tous les jours la fiesta. Nous sommes en très bonne compagnie avec entre autres : micheline et Pascal, ingrid et marc, Hedwige et axel, Annemie et patrick etc. etc.
Du soleil à gogo et du cava en abondance. Il faudra du détox au retour...
Nous attendons avec impatience la suite de la croisière du lazy Jack (pas lazy du tout).

je me suis réjouis d'avoir eu la chance de vous souhaiter une grande année de vive voix le 31.12 en compagnie de Zus, mais pour vous c'était en avance.
